Is your firewood sourced legally? Permits are required from DPAW to take / collect firewood from state forests. Does you firewood provider have a permit, these are not easy to come by for commercial purposes.

Is your firewood sustainably sourced? Is the firewood sourced from fallen or dead wood. Is the land that wood is taken from being used for sustainable purposes and managed accordingly. Our firewood is sourced from our own and surrounding properties (with owners consent) in Gidgegannup. Less transport distance, less embodied energy, better for the environment!

Is your firewood sourced as part of DE-forestation / logging operations? Most firewood supplied in Perth and surrounding area is sourced as part of a DE-forestation / logging operation, i.e. your firewood is potentially contributing to the reduction of our old growth and natural forest.

Is your firewood supplied compliant with national requirements? Check the NMI (National Measurements Institute) link on the links page.

Is your firewood certified compliant with state requirements? Does  your firewood have a moisture content of less than 20%. Ask for proof / demonstration on delivery.

Is your supplier fully insured? Only fully insured suppliers are covered in the event of an incident / accident on your or their property.

Is your suppliers business adequately registered? Do you have an ABN / ACN, customers ask for proof”. Customers should be provided with a GST compliant invoice with delivery.
